André Balazs acquired Jean Prouve’s La Maison Tropicale, a masterpiece of modernist architecture, at Christie’s International auction house in June 2008. He is presenting it to the public for the first time in London, in collaboration with Tate Modern and the Design Museum, as a celebration of Jean Prouvé’s work, from Feb 5th 2008. It will reside in London until Spring, whereupon it will find a new home in the tropics.
